Copy probate of will of 27 May 1796 of William Goodman of Husborne Crawley, shopkeeper:
- to his wife Elizabeth Goodman for her life his close of 4 acres n Carnest Fields, Aspley Guise, lately purchased from Frances Granborough; remainder to their three sons William, John and James Goodman as tenants in common;
- to his wife Elizabeth all household goods, furniture etc. as well as ready money, stock etc.; remainder to their three sons for equal division between them;
- his wife Elizabeth to be sole executrix;
- signed by a mark;
- witnesses: Sarah Row; John Brotherton; Ezra Eagles of Toddington;
- proved in Archdeaconry of Bedford before Thomas Tipping Aveling, surrogate (Rector of Aspley Guise 1793-1813) and Thomas Hornbuckle, Deputy Registrar on 1 Aug 1796
