    Abstract of Title of Harry Young, James Coventry and William Beveridge to one undivided moiety of freehold and copyhold lands and hereditaments in Biggleswade [compiled by Chapman & Chaundler of Biggleswade and marked "Lot 2"] (I) Lease & release by way of marriage settlement of 23 & 24 Mar 1840 Parties: (1) Edward Burch Field of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge University and of Mount Sorrel [Leicestershire], esquire; (2) Isabella Hamilton of St.Andrew's Square, Edinburgh, spinster; (3) James Hamilton of St.Andrew's Square, Edinburgh (brother of (2)) and James Hastie of Broad Street Buildings, London, gentleman Reciting: - intended marriage between (1) and (2); - (1) was entitled as eldest son and heir at law of his mother Mary Field, deceased in reversion on the death of his father Edward Field of (a)-(b); - (1) was entitled for an estate in possession of him and his heirs according to the Custom of the Manor of Biggleswade to (c)-(h); - (a)-(b) should be sold and the monies settled for the benefit of (1) and (2) Operative Part: - (3) paid 10/- to (1); - (1), with privity of (2), released (a)-(b) to (3); - (1), with privity of (2), agreed to surrender (c)-(h) into hands of Lord of the Manor to use of (3) upon trusts as below Property: (a) half of 6a 0r 35p arable land known as Great Simon Piece on E side of Potton's Way abutting on Commons of Biggleswade and in occupation of John Kirby Gould; (d) half of close of arable land in Biggleswade called Rye Close of 1 acre [marginal note states that this was sold to Biggleswade School Board]; (e) 13 acres of arable land and sweard ground in common fields of Biggleswade; (f) 6a 0r 3p of arable land in Town Field, Biggleswade; (g) 4a 1r 30p arable land in Hitchmead, Biggleswade, called Reeves Hitch Furlong abutting: in part on lands late of Edward Rudd, then of John Foster; E on Hitch Mead Furlong, formerly in occupation of John Steward, then Hogg and Lindsell; (h) 4a 2r 10p of arable called Crain's Piece or Crane's Piece in Town Field, Biggleswade on N side of lane called Crabb Lane; in occupation of Edward Rudd, since of John Sarum, then John Steward, then Hogg and Lindsell Habendum: - (a)-(b) to (3) to use of (3) in trust for (1) until solemnization of the marriage; upon trusts as below Agreement as to Trusts: - after solemnization of the marriage (3) to sell (a)-(h);
