    Feoffment Parties: (i) Sir John Napier of Luton Hoo, baronet; Roger Gillingham of Middle Temple, London, esquire; (ii) Thomas Cheyne of Luton, gentleman; (iii) James Smith of London, gentleman Reciting: - demise of 40 years of 28 Jan 1661 from (1) Sir Robert Napier, knight and baronet, deceased, father of Sir John Napier to (2) John Halsey of Lincolns Inn, Middlesex, gentleman; Roger Gillingham; of, amongst other things, (a)-(b) from death of (1) upon trusts; - indenture of 29 Jan [1661?] between (1) Sir Robert Napier; (2) John, Earl of Bridgewater; (3) John Halsey and Roger Gillingham; confirming (3) in (a) to use of (1) for his life, remainder to [Sir] John Napier and his male heirs, remainder to Alexander Napier (another son of Sir Robert); - Sir Robert Napier died shortly after making the two indentures of 1661 and John Halsey had since also died Operative Part: - (i) enfeoffed (a)-(b) to (ii) for 300 paid to Sir John Napier and 5/- paid to Roger Gillingham Property: (a) three messuages in South Street, Luton, between messuage of Thomas Cheyne and that of William Rutland in several occupations of Nicholas Chalkley, Daniel Martin and Thomas Chapman abutting SW on highway from Luton to The Brach; (b) 6 poles of land formerly belonging to a farm of Sir John Napier, late in occupation of Widow Markett between dwellinghouse and close of William Hull and abutting S on William Rutland's orchard Covenant: - (i) and (ii) with (iii) to enter a writ of entry sur disseisin in le post to effect a common recovery Witnesses: - ...Napier; - A.Crouch; - Thomas Lewes junior; - Peter Warburton; - George Warburton junior; - Thomas Cracherode
