Will, Codicil and Probate of Sophia Margaret Stuart widow of William Stuart, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland, deceased: Will (1 Aug 1840): - to Susannah Adams, spinster of Abridge [Essex], an annuity of 30 free of legacy duty; - to Janet Vernon, spinster of Stoke Green [Buckinghamshire], an annuity of 30 free of legacy duty; - to Jane Mason, widow of Richard Mason, an annuity of 25 free of legacy duty; - to Granville John Penn, esquire of Stoke Park [Buckinghamshire], 20 annuity, free of legacy duty, during life of her foster brother John Weir the elder of Stoke for his maintenance; - annuities to be paid from residual personal estate; - to her sons William Stuart and Henry Stuart 1,000 in 3% consolidated bank annuities, her jewels, trinkets and personal ornaments upon trust for her daughter Mary, Countess Ranfurly, wife of Thomas, Earl of Ranfurly for her sole use, to sink into the testatrix's personal estate on death of Mary; - to William Stuart 500 in 3% consolidated bank annuities subject to payment of her debts, legacies etc.; - to Henry Stuart the residue of her estate; - William Stuart and Henry Stuart to be her executors - witnessed by John Parkinson and William Joseph Jarrett of 66 Lincolns Inn Fields [Middlesex] Codicil (14 Aug 1846): - to William and Henry Stuart 400 3% bank annuities in name of William Baker, esquire and late Granville Penn, esquire (her brother), subject to life interest of Mary Mills, her late mother's maid, upon trusts for Mary, Countess of Ranfurly; - witnessed by Edwin Grant and Frederick Charles Jarrett, clerks to Farrer & Co, 66 Lincolns Inn Fields, London Probate in PCC (26 May 1847): - before James Parker Deane, surrogate for Sir Herbert Jenner Fust, Commissary; - proved by William and Henry Stuart; - witnesses Charles Dyneley, John Iggulden, W.F.Gostling - extracted by H.C.Coote
