(iv) Rev.Matthew Thomas Farrer of Shirley Parsonage, Croydon [Surrey]; Alfred Atkinson Pollock of Lincolns Inn Fields [Middlesex], gentleman; Rev.Henry Blagden of St.Leonards on Sea; Robert James Wilson of St.Leonards on Sea, surgeon Recitals: - indenture of marriage settlement of 6 Feb 1843 between (1) Rev.Edward Golding, since deceased, (father (ii)); (2) (iii) (then Louisa Grace Elliott, spinster); (3) George Henry Elliott the elder, since deceased and Mary Josephine his wife (grandparents of (ii)) (4) Sir John Francis Buller Duckworth and George Henry Elliott the younger in which (4) stood possessed, as trustees, of reversion expectant on the death of (3) and of half of 22,222/4/5 in reduced 3% bank annuities then in names of William Hay Leonard Currie, Henry Lewis Wickham and Edmund Fletcher upon trust to pay interest of the half part of 22,222/4/5 to (2) in trust to set aside 2,000 in 3% reduced bank annuities for each child of (1) and (2) after death of (2); - Edward Golding, being (under the will of his father Edward Golding of 13 Jan 1816 (proved in PCC on 26 Aug 1818) and indenture of 21 Jul 1857 between (1) Edward Golding; (2) Bailie Golding; (3) Alfred Atkinson Pollock) entitled to reversion on death of Bailie Golding, if he had no male heirs, of mansion and manor of Maiden Earley in Sonning [Berkshire] made his will on 30 Sep 1857 leaving all real estate to his sole executrix, his wife, (iii), and, after her death, 4,000 to each of his daughters (to include shares of the half share of 22,222/4/5 in annuities), the residue of his estates to his sons; - death of Edward Golding on 18 Nov 1857 and proof of his will in PCC on 19 Dec 1857 by his (iii); - Bailie Golding had no male heirs living; - (ii), aged 19, was eldest child of Edward Golding and (iii); - intended marriage of (i) and (ii) ; - marriage treaty agreed that 2,000 in 3% reduced bank annuities to which (ii) was entitled on deaths of her mother and grandmother and the legacy of 4,000 payable on death of her mother and Bailie Golding should be vested in (iv) as trustees; that property of (ii) should be settled as noted below; that (iii) should covenant with (iv) for payment of 100 per annum when she became possessed of real estate in Sonning, changing to 150 when the rents of the properties reached 2,000 per annum Operative Part: - (i) and (ii) after marriage to assign the 2,000 in annuities and 4,000 legacy to (iv) upon trusts, the interest being paid to (ii) for her sole use; - (iii) to pay 100 or 150 as noted above, from estates in Sonning to (iv) in trust for (ii) Provisoes: - that the interest from 2,000 and 4,000 should be paid, after deaths of (i) and (ii), to their children; - children to bring their shares of the trust monies into hotchpot; - up to half the share of each child may be paid by (iv) for that child's advancement; - if no children of (i) and (ii) and (ii) die before (i) the trustees to stand possessed of the monies to use of will of (ii); - if (ii), or (i) in her right, became entitled to real or personal estate (except trinkets, furniture, books etc.) of 200 value or more it should be assigned to (iv) upon trusts; - provision for appointment of new trustees Witnesses: - George Elliott JP of Farnton Park [Hampshire]; - affidavit regarding this marriage settlement of William James Farrer sworn in Chancery on 6 Feb 1878 before George Carew in matter if settled estates of Edward Golding and Rev.Edward Golding; - indenture of 19 Jun 1880 between (1) Matthew Thomas Farrer, Henry Blagden and Robert James Wilson and (2) Lewis Medland of Colebrooke Villa, North Finchley [Middlesex], esquire and Sir Edmund Hay Currie of Queen Anne Mansions, Westminster, knight, RECITING: marriage between William Medland and Louisa Frances Golding occurred; several children, all still infants, were born to them; William Medland and Louisa Frances Medland were both now dead as was Alfred Atkinson Pollock; Matthew Thomas Farrer and Henry Blagden wished to give up trusteeship; Chancery Action Medland v.Farrer 1874 No.7 gave sanction to (1) to appoint new trustees; Louisa Grace Golding was still alive; Louisa Frances Medland outlived her husband but never assigned the 2,000 and 4,000 and only other sums subject to trust were 150 per annum from Louisa Grace Golding, used for maintenance of the children;
