Henrietta Peters married William Peters, who has deserted her, at parish church Melton Mowbray in Aug 1876. Wm. Peters was born at Millbrook 6 Nov 1851, son of James and Rachel Peters; no other settlement. (ro & sp) 22 Mar 1881 To Ampthill Union from Melton Mowbray Union. 3 persons in the workhouse. Wm. Peters is son of James Peters, a gardener, who has always lived at Millbrook. William lived with his father until 14: then apprenticed to an Ampthill shoemaker. Subsequently left and moved about the country, never gaining settlement. Married in Aug. 1876. Lived at Millbrook a short time. Then to Melton for 2yrs.; then London for nearly 2yrs. Will your Board accept the paupers? Henrietta peters eldest child is now with the husband's father at Millbrook (L) 18 Jan 1881 To Ampthill Union from Melton Mowbray Union. On 16 May last Henrietta Peters and 2 children were removed to your Union. Recently she returned to Melton with her children and deseted them: children now in workhouses. Will your Board send an order for readmission of the children into the Ampthill Union to save trouble and expense? (L) 26 Aug 1881
