Peters is son of James Peters, a gardener, who has always lived at Millbrook. William lived with his father until 14: then apprenticed to an Ampthill shoemaker. Subsequently left and moved about the country, never gaining settlement. Married in Aug. 1876. Lived at Millbrook a short time. Then to Melton for 2yrs.; then London for nearly 2yrs. Will your Board accept the paupers? Henrietta peters eldest child is now with the husband's father at Millbrook (L) 18 Jan 1881 To Ampthill Union from Melton Mowbray Union. On 16 May last Henrietta Peters and 2 children were removed to your Union. Recently she returned to Melton with her children and deseted them: children now in workhouses.
