Ann Abbis wife of Geo. is suffering from epilepsy About 1850 Richard Abbis rented yearly a tenement consisting of a dwelling house, smith's shop and prems. at Woburn St. Ampthill, worth 12 p.a. Rented prems 1850-1853 and paid all rates and taxes 8 Nov 1867 (ro & particulars of settlement) 19 Nov 1867 To George Abbis from Jn Wright Clerk of the union. Wants to know exact date G. Abbis went to Rotherhithe, date applied for relief and when relief paid. (L. returned. not known at 19, Commercial St. Rotherhithe) 14 Dec 1867 ToJn. Wright, Clerk of the Union from J. Horsepool of Rotherhithe. Sorry did not answer letter. Geo. Abbis is at work far away. Cannot say how long he recd. 2s a week for his wife. She is a great trial. Have to keep a fire night and day.
