- will of George Bailey of 1 Jul 1896 appointing Charles Mees, Charles Edward Mees and Sydney Charles Weston as executors;
- three codicils to the will of George Bailey which did not affect the appointment of executors;
death of Charles Mees on 5 Nov 1896;
death of George Bailey on 9 Jun 1897;
- proof of the will of George Bailey on 19 Aug 1897 in PPR;
- £75 remained due on the mortgage Z 978/2/1
Witnessing: (iii) paid £75 to (i) and £410 to (ii) for:
(a) plot of land in Stockwood Crescent, Luton bounded: to SW by Stockwood Crescent and with a width of 19 feet; to NE by premises late of Alice Thorogood and Thomas Witting, now of Eliza Taylor; to NW by premises late of William Dunham, now of Edwin Davis and measuring 118 feet in length; to SE by premises of Samuel Impey and measuring 118 feet;
(b) dwellinghouse, washhouse and other buildings on (a) formerly in occupation of Sarah Spurdens, then Norfolk Amey Spurdens but now empty and known as Essex House and 35 Stockwood Crescent
