Mentions Jesse's diligence and skill in baking bread and building organs and John's attention to the businesses at the "Old Mill". Sends love to enquiring relatives and friends and Mr HOWARD. Writes of the goldfields of Tasmania and Australia. Son Abraham Edwin had gone to work in Geelong digging for gold. Had news that Abraham had also been at Mt Alexander and Melbourne, the goldfields were so extensive that "tho thousands upon thousands were to pour in for years, it would make but little difference". Several places in VD Land where gold was to be found, but in small quantities, at present. Had been contracted to build more buildings and hoped a few more Englishmen will come to "our shores". Writes of agitation in the Wesleyan members. Had his and his wife's "Daguerotype" likeness taken, and was intending to send the parcel by ship. Note at end Writes of " bro Jesse's death".
