    Letter seven(pages 20-23) From Abraham, Jerusalem, to father John Barratt BIGGS. Long and protracted apology for not writing. Next part of letter is to "dear brother" thanking him for his letter. Asks him to call on R GOODSON and he will communicate with BROWN, WINDSOR, HEADLAND, SMITH and other London friends. Had received his letter[GOODSON]and one from Isaac BROWN and Mr HEADLAND. Proposes to write all in one to R GOODSON. "The 'Cogwood' is still growing in this antipodian desert" discussed possibility of sending it to Bedford and the expense. Thanks his brother for his reference to Mother HORTON who they have no news of, or the family. Had received only one letter from that part of the world since they left it. Enquires where Mother, Sister Hannah and Bro Edward live? and any information on Friend PAKES's family Explains the cost of farm, land, farm animals and crops. Oct 2nd. Finished wheat showing last week. "Asks what sort of clover does his father sow with barley". Is pleased that his "old friend Reilly" still visits Bromham. The conduct of REILLY'S son[Charlie]is discussed at length. Grieved at the report from Exeter and hope things improve. "Love to Sister Abigail and Jesse". Mentions receiving newspapers costing him 1/2 penny. Writes of the weather "we live in almost eternal summer, vegetation going on all the year round excepting the month of July"; his wife and children, giving there ages and names and how Thomas has "Fathers countenance" and the baby has taken two of the grandmother's names. Writes of the "providence which led us to relinquish our design of going to Buffaloe"[America]. Continues "the delightful Island and morality of this land and the differences between it and America".
