    Lease for 3 lives from the Rev. John Parker, bachelor in divinity and Master of the Hospital of St. John the Baptist in Bedford and the brethren of the Hospital to Elizabeth Towersey of Bedford, spinster, for and in consideration of the surrender of two several former leases for lives (made of the premises by Henry Hinde, clerk, since deceased, then Master of the hospital and the brethren, by indenture of 27 May 1782) of: (a) messuage or tenement late in the occupation of Robert Gorge and now of William Malden in the parish of St. Mary in Bedford between a tenement belonging to the Hospital, now in the possession of Sumpter Johnson on the N. and a barn or workshop now in the occupation of Robert Sammon Cooper on the S. and the street called Saint John's Street lying on the E. in the front thereof. (b) messuage or tenement late in the occupation of John Rose and now of Samuel Bigrave between the messuage now in the possession of Mary Pryor, widow, belonging to the Hospital on the N. and a messuage or tenement now in the occupation of John Brazier on the S. and St. John's Street lying on the W. in front thereof. General words clause specifies outhouses, edifices, buildings, yards, gardens, backsides, ways, waters, paths, passages, privileges and appurtenances. Habendum to ET her heirs and assigns for the natural lives of Thomas Barnard (son of Joseph Barnard of Bedford, merchant), Thomas Bradnock (son of Thomas Bradnock of Bedford, coachman) and Robert White (son of Thomas White of St. John's parish in Bedford, carpenter) and the longest liver of them. Reddendum annually for (a) the ancient and accustomed yearly rent of 12s. and for (b) 6s.8d. per annum at or within the capital messuage of the Hospital in Bedford on the four most usual feast days in the year.
