nephew and devisee for life in the last will of John
Franklin late of L.B. gent. deceased.

Reciting that (ia) is seized of an estate in tail male in the
following properties,
CONVEYANCE (Lease and Release) by (i) to (ii) in consideration of 5/-
and 10/-, in order that a Recovery can be suffered to dock entail, of:
a) messuage or tenement now or lately divided into two tenements and
farm closes, i.e. Home Close, Lanes and Next the Road leading
Stukeley, a meadow formerly called Sidmuns mead with arable
adjoining, close called Jewitts, Dopslowe at the upper end of
Surcott Moor, four cow commons on Surcott morr, and timber, all in
Surcott in Linslade, Bucks, formerly in the occupation of Ezekiel
Gurney etc., with tithes,
all of which were purchased of Wm. Lutwyche esq. and other
trustees under an Act of Parliament for the sale of estates of
Corbett Kynaston, esq. by John Franklin and John Capon (who
later conveyed his undivided moiety to John Franklin)
b) cottage or tenement in Stoke Hammond, Bucks, where Roger Goss and
John Franklin once lived, the common green on E, together with an
allotment of ground in lieu of right of common of the said cottage,
which John Franklin the testator purchased of John Franklin of
Stoke Hammond;
c) cottage or tenement in Edlesborough, Bucks, and arable, meadow and
pasture, late estate of testator John Franklin and purchased by
him of Kidgel Sandon;
d) cottage with east end, where Eliz. Wadler formerly dwelt, since in the
occ. of John Burnham, in the North End of Leighton Buzzard, with small
garden adjoining, 18' by 16' with little yard before the cottage,
and a third part of the well, bounded W by the the Town House, and S
by the highway or churchway. Purchased by John Franklin of Matthew
Harding and Joyce his wife;
e) little cottage with appurtenances in the North End of L.B., formerly
in the occupation of Joseph Billington, adjoining d) on the W, the
highway or church way S, together with the third part of a well, all
of which were purchased by John Franklin from Richard Harding;
f) one acre arable land in L.B. common fields, purchased by John Franklin
from Benj. Reeve;
g) 1 1/2 acres meadow being moiety of one half yard land, and one half half
yard land of meadow in Billington Long Mead in L.B., abutting N on
Meadside Lane, and S. on Billington Mead Brook;
h) one half acre arable land in Grovebury Field, L.B., in the furlong
shooting to the path leading to Wenlock stile, purchased by John
Franklin of Joseph Flemens;
i) one acre being 3 ridges in Wenlock Furlong, Grovebury Field (with a
pond) purchased by John Franklin of Robert Ashwell;
j) several pieces of freehold arable land in L.B. common fields making in
all 2 a. 1 r. (full description) purchased by John Franklin of Mary
Bird;
k) piece of meadow called the Bottom in Shenley Hill Field in L.B.,
2a. 3r. abutting W towards Rowley Stone, formerly in the occ. of
Thomas Arnold, and purchased by John Franklin of Abraham Baskerfield
and others;
l) 15 acres arable dispersed in the common fields of L.B. (full description
purchased by John Franklin from Thomas Arnald and Sarah his wife;
m) 13 acres by estimation of freehold arable and meadow land in the
common fields of L.B. purchased by John Franklin of George Scott;
n) land in the common fields of L.B. purchased by John Franklin of
Alexander Brown and late the estate of Mark Fountain;
o) a messuage cottage or tenement now divided into 2 tenements in Watford,
Herts;
other hereditaments of (i) held under the will of John Franklin (and all except
such parts in the hamlet of Standbridge in L.B. as are intended to be
conveyed to the use of John Franklin of Rushmore, L.B., gent.)
to the intent that a Recovery can be suffered to the use of Thomas
Franklin for his life, then to the use of Elizabeth his wife for life, in
lieu of dower, then to the heirs of Thomas Franklin.
