having surrendered his copyhold land to the use of his will,
bequeathed to Mary his wife (executrix)
copyhold cottage in which he then lived in North End
of L.B. lately surrendered to him by his father and
mother, William and Elizabeth Bull,
reciting surrender to the use of his will by William Bull 12 Mar 1738
of several pieces of land lately pur. of Benj. Reeve,
reciting codicil to his will dated 11 May 1738 by which he left
the property pur. from Benj. Reeve to Mary his wife, and
reciting Articles of Agreement 17th Nov. 1741 in which Mary Bull
covenanted to convey to Henry Bird in consideration of £34
the following lands;
Freehold:
2 lands being 1a. in L.B. by Clipson way side and shooting down to
the Townsend in Middle Field;
1 butt of arable near the last, shooting on Bacon Furlong;
1 land (1/2a) in Hoe Furlong shooting on Howards Baulk in Shenley Hill
field;
2 lands, by est. 1 acre, near Walkers Windmill, shooting into the
Pitts near the Townsend;
Copyhold (to be conveyed by surrender):
1 land (1/2a) in Hoe Furlong adj. freehold land;
2 lands (1a) on Stonhill Furlong nr. the Windmill in Grovebury Field;
1 land (1/2a) lying seven lands from Wedd Lock stile in Wedd Lock
furlong nr. Billington Bottom;
1 land (1/2a) shooting into Grovebury Bottom with the 'Heard of
Sweard' thereunto belonging,
and since it is considered that there is some fault in
the disposition made by Wm. Bull of his copyhold lands,
and that Robert Bull, son of William and Mary, will have
to surrender these lands to Henry Bird as soon as he
attains the age of 21 years,
CONDITIONAL SURRENDER 8th June 1742 by Mary Bull of L.B. widow, to the use
of Henry Bird of Heath, of
a customary cottage in the North End of L.B. formerly Crosses, where
William Bull lately dwelt, and where Mary Bull now lives,
by way of security to secure the surrender of the other copyhold property
by Robert Bull.
