  • Title
File regarding dispute over proposed modification to the Definitive Map of Public Rights of Way for Hulcote and Salford which would acknowledge the existence of a Byway Open to All Traffic (BOAT) from the county boundary to the UC340, specifically by adding a BOAT from the county boundary to Salford Mill, and upgrading part of Footpath 3 from Salford Mill to the UC340 to the status of a BOAT. The dispute was between Bedfordshire County Council and J.F.L.Hill, owner of the land over which the footpath ran. The dispute was taken to a Public Inquiry at which the Inspector decided that part of the route should be a BOAT. The file includes, amongst other things: - letter regarding creation of circular walk in the parish [1987]; - three drafts of County Council of Bedfordshire (Definitive Map and Statement for Bedfordshire) (Hulcote and Salford: Byway Open to All Traffic Nos 10 and 11) Modification Order; - letter of objection to the County Council proposals from the parish council; - detailed Bedfordshire County Council comments on objections to the Modification Order and statement of grounds upon which it considered that the Order should be confirmed; - decision letter of the Planning Inspector after Public Inquiry
