    Deed Poll by way of release. Reciting - will of William Retchford of Dunton, labourer of 27 Apr 1682 bequeathing: to his wife Jane (inter alia) the end of his house in occupation of Peter Simpson as her dwelling, and after her death his son John Retchford; to his son John the part of the house in which he (WR) dwelt and one three rood land and two butts lying in the fields of Dunton - John Retchford, then of St.Neots [Huntingdonshire], chapman, conveyed by lease and release of 20-21 May 1698 to Zachary Clare of Dunton, labourer: (a) cottage or tenement in Dunton then in occupation of John Chapman (b) two pieces of land called Two Butts containing one rood (c) after decease of Jane Retchford, widow, part of the (a) in occupation of Peter Simpson and late of Elizabeth Austin, widow, now of ZC - feoffment of ZC of 19 Dec 1705 to Thomas Winter of Stratton, Biggleswade, labourer of cottage or tenement, yard, orchard and premises in Dunton late in tenure and occupation of John Chapman, after of ZC, now of TW Declaring Release from ZC to TW of (b) and (c) above.
