Message reads: 'Saturday Well my old man how are you, and I hope those feet are better and how do you get on at school. I see that all the boys have commenced school about his part. This is a very pretty place with nice wide streets and plenty of shops, also large manufactories. When I come home I think I had better come to London as the GN will not book me further than Peterborough, and the MR will not take me, the two stations are both together, or one each side of the street. Suppose that you have had plenty of sliding this frosty cold weather, I had a good walk this morning to keep myself warm its awfully cold, one man told me this morning that he had lived in this town all his life and never knew it as cold before heaps of love and kisses form your loving Dad, Now going to the football match.'
