William Bates, Wardon, tailor. 1684 Bought from Th.Tapp a gelding later claimed by Jos. Hurst. The Informacon of William Bates of Wardon in the County of Bedd taylor taken upon Oath the xxvjth day of February 1683/4 before Thomas Christie Esqr one of his Majesties Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid. This Informant saith that on Saturday was a moenth he bought of one Thomas Tapp (now a Prisoner in the County Gaole) a flea bitten Guelding for 45s which Guelding on Saturday last was claimed & fetched away from him by one Joseph Hurst of Denton who told this Informant that the said Guelding was stollen from him not long before the same was sold to this Informant Taken the day & yeare Aforesaid before me Tho Christie Will Bate
