Presentment of Grand jury.1683
The Presentments of the Grand Jury at the Assises held at Ampthill the 19th & 20th of July 1683 We present Thomas Massum, Jeremy Okely, Peter Croot, Richard Gutteridge, William Fowler of the parish of Luton for not coming to the parish Church to heare Divine Service for the space if two Months. We present John Croot of Luton for not coming to the Parish Church to heare Divine Service for the space of six Months. We present John Wright of Blunham Collermaker, George Farr of the same Grocer, John Ravens of the same Yeoman, Richard Dix & his son Richard Dix Farmers of the same parish for absenting themselves from hearing divine Service in their parish Church for the space of two months. We present Thomas Bunyon of the parish of Norhill Cooper and Richard Ravens of the same Yeoman and Edward Sutton of the same Yeoman for not repairing to the parish Church for the space of two months. We present Edward Poppleton & Thomas Lawford Constables of Thorncote Beeston & Hatch for not making due presentments We present the parish of Norhill for not repairing their highwayes from dead mans Oake to Biggleswade bridge leading from Biggleswade to Bedford which they ought to repaire.
