Deposition: Mary, w. of Wm. Johnson, Potton, lab. 30 May 1680. Found the new born male child of A.W. in Church Close, Potton. Anne, w. of Robt. Berry, Eliz. w. of Jn. Seymer, Potton, labs. As above. 30th May 1680 Mary the wife of Wm Johnson of Potton Laborer deposeth that upon Wednesday 26th May 1680 about 6 in the Afternoon she found a new borne male child in a land of rye in a close called Church Close in the parish of Potton in the County of Bedford covered over with the earth, excepting a little parte of the hipp & that Alice White of Potton aforesaid spinster was the mother of the said Child & so covered over the said Child & further that the said Child had a timely birth according to this Deponents best judgment haveing hair & nayles & c Anne the wife of Robt Berry of Potton aforesaid Laborer deposeth as abovesaid Elizabeth the wife of Jo Seymer of Potton aforesaid Laborer saith as abovesaid Taken the day & year first abovewritten upon the oath of the abovenamed Mary Ann & Elizabeth by me Ralph Baldwyn, Coroner of the Liberty of Potton & Sutton
