    Deposition: William Berrey, Bedford, cordwainer. Wm. Wiffin sent for him to hold his wife Dinah in violent fit. In fit of laughing she said 'I have played the Rogue'. W.B. went to Jn.Wright in prison who described the fit as if present, and fortold time of another. Thomas Hartley, Bedford, servant at mace. Confirms evidence of what Jn.Wright said in prison. The Informacon of William Berrey of the Towne of Bedford Cordwayner taken upon Oath before Thomas Christie Esqr on of his Majesties Justices of Peace the 17th day of March Anno dom 1679 This Informant saieth that yesterday about seven A Clock at night hee was sent for by William Wiffin to Com to him & helpe him to hold his wife for that she was in a greivous fitt Upon whose request he Came & found her upon the Bedd Raving like one in distraction Offering to strike any One that Came neare her & striking her selfe & at a hatt which Lay upon the bedd & then in a fitt of Lafing said I have paid the Roague And one John Wright being in Prison in Bedford upon suspicon of having bewitcht her: the said William Wiffin desierd this Informant to Repaier to the Prison; & question Wright; About her present fitt, who told this Informant in the presence of Thomas Hartley one of the seriants at Mace for this Towne & one Thomas Lane Pipemaker that the said Wiffins wife was then in a fitt & did exactly discribe all the Circumstances of the said fitt in what manner shee suffered & was handled as if the said Wright had bin personally present with her which this informant knew to bee true because hee had seene her in the greatest part of the fitt though hee Conceald it from the sd Wright that hee had bin with her: And this Informant demanded of the sd Wright when the fitt would leave her who told this Informant it would be Off before hee this Informant could come to her which hee found true at his returne, her fit having wholy Left her, And This Informt further saieth that at his departure from the said Wright, he told this Informt that the said Wiffins wife would that night have a sorer fitt then the other which would take her About Eleven A Clock in the night & Leave her About Twelve & after that shee would have no more; And the Informt further saieth that he staid with the said Wiffins wife After his retorne from Wright which was betwixt Eight & Nine A Clocke till one A Clocke in the Morning to see If the event would fall out Acordingly: And hee said that about Eleven A Clock A New fitt Came which held her till About twelve A Clocke Acording as the said Wright had foretold which fitt (in the Judgmt of this Informant) was stronger then the former The marke of William Berrey The Informacon of Thomas Hartley Taken upon Oath. This Informant saieth that having hard the Informacon of William Berrey Redd hee saieth that the same is true in all points as to what John Wright therein named said in Prison. Thomas Hartly
