Title
Deposition: Joseph Emery, Bedford, stationer.
Took Jn. Wright to house of his sister Dinah Wiffin who had described him when in fit and had said he had wronged her. J.W. asked her to forgive him, said he had sent a spirit to her, and that one Gudey Morgan, and after her death on Gudey Waldock, had joined with him. The Informacon of Joseph Emery of the Towne of Bedford Stashoner taken upon Oath before Thomas Christie Esqr one of his Majesties Justices of Peace the 18th day of March Anno dni 1679. This Informt saieth that his Mother & one William Mouse did persuade him on Sunday last about Eight A Clock to git one John Wright up to his brother William Wiffins house whose wife lay troubled with grevious Fitts because she in her fitts had discribd him in all his postures & gate & when her fitts had left her shee did say shee belevd hee had wrongd her And upon their desiere he went to Alice Joyces house who lookt after the sd Wright & desierd her to Com up with the sd Wright to his brothers house: who brought up the sd Wright and upon his coming to the sd house hee Came up into the Chamber whare the sd Wiffins Wife Lay and kneeled downe by the beddside & said to this Informt for god sake forgive mee who told the sd Wright that hee had don him no wrong but if hee had don any it was to his sister And the sd Wright being Askt If hee had don his sister any wrong said yeas hee had & desierd her to forgive him and the said Wright being further Askt About what tyme hee first wrongd her said About Last Micalms was twelvemonth was the first tyme About which time the sd Wiffins Wife fell into fitts which held her About A week and that divers tymes since she hath had fitts And this Informt further saieth that on Fryday last his sister fell into Extraordinary fitts & being Com to her selfe out of the sd fitts said that she did verely beleive that the Abovenamed John Wright had wrongd her and that shee had thought to have kept her thoughts or Imaginacons to her selfe but could Conceall it No Longer And the sd Wright being Askt how hee wrongd her sd hee did send A spirtt to her & being Askt who joind with him to wrongue his sd sister sd one Gudey Morgain of Goldington & after her death one Gudey Waldock of the same towne Jos Emery
