Deposition: John Wright, Bedford, cordwainer. 14 March 1680.
Denies bewitching Dinah Wiffin, says he will pray for her. Confesses he said that afternoon he had done her wrong. The Examinacon of John Wright of the towne of Bedford Cordwayner taken before William Bamforth Esqr Mayor of the sd Towne the 14th day of March Anno dni 1679. This Examinant being demanded whether hee was a witch saieth hee did not knowe but trust to god hee is not and being asked whether hee bewitcht Dinah Wiffin hee saieth hee did not as hee knows but saieth shee will bee well within two or three dayes and that hee will pray for when hee goes to bedd howbett this Examinant Confesseth that hee did saie this Afternoon hee had don her wrong
