The Crown, Langford, and other property
(i)Absolute surrender by Edw Mayou, late of Atherston, Warwicks, but now of Witherley, Leics, gent, and w Frances Ann (late Fran Ann Wells, sp.), and Jn Princep, late of Newton Regis, otherwise Newton in the Thistles, Leics, but now of Appleby, Leics and Derbys, gent, and w Eliza Hankin (late E H Wells), in consideration of £350 paid by Wm Hogge and Robt Lindsell, Biggleswade, bankers, brewers etc to Geo Mousley, surgeon and apothecary, and Jn Davys, gent., and a further £350 to Rev Chas Thos Cary, clk, and Thos Wesley Turnley, gent.

said deed being made for the purpose of carrying onto effect a contract for sale - sd £700 (ie 2 x £350) of the following property.
- cottage in Langford formerly in occ Sam Pryor and since of Eliz Piper and known as 'The Crown'
- Dovehouse Close on S side of sd cottage and extending in breadth 2 yds behind the appletree in a straight line from the hedge to the opposite ditch (ie small part of close)
- close late pasture, now arable (3 acs) called Dovehouse Close lying near back of sd messuage of which 1 ac 2 rds is copyhold of sd manor, formerly the estate of Sam Wilson, dec., the other part being copyhold of the Manor of Langford Rectory
- allotment in Sandfield (3 acs 2 rds) awarded by the Langford Inclosure Commissioners to Thos Pratt Wells, in lieu of his right of common to the Crown.
