Crowsley, Jas Kent, Overseers of the Poor ii) Rev Montague Earle Welby, Long Bennington, Lincs., clk, consideration - £78 paid to Treasurers of Biggleswade Union by ii) i) sells to ii) - copyhold messuage at Langford (now divided into 4) and formerly used as the workhouse etc (1r. 20p), now in occupation Richard Sabey, Sam Norman, Wm. Norman, and Edw. Horley to which premises the churchwardens and Overseers were admitted at a Court held on 21 May and 25 June 1787 on surrender of John Everitt 13 Nov 1840 [formerly CD 970] (ii)Absolute surrender John Earle Welby of Allington Hall, Grantham, Lincs to Frederick Edwin Eyre of Preston Hall, Uppingham, Rutland, for £112 10s - parcel of land (1 r 20 p) whereon the workhouse formerly stood, to which John Earle Welby was admitted on 1st December 1875 when the 4 tenements had for some time been pulled down.6 April 1876 (iii)Absolute surrender Frederick Edwin Eyre to George Thomas Wood of The Borough market, Southwark, Surrey, salesman for £100 - parcel of land containing 1r 20p whereon the workhouse or poorhouse formerly stood abutting on the village street or road.22 Dec 1883 [ii-iii formerly CD 1010]
