    (i)Power of attorney from Mrs Martha Cumming of Bembridge, Isle of Wight, relict of Robert Newman Cumming late of Chelsea, surgeon, to take admission and surrender copyhold premises in the Manor of Langford to William Wells Gardner of Biggleswade, gent. a) 3r pightle of pasture in the N part of Langford b) cottage or tenement in Flexmore end formerly in occ of Thos Brunt now John Green, with barns, outhouses, orchard and garden and close of pasture of 1 ac 1 r. c) 1½ ac close of pasture in Church End known as Holme Field d) 3r pightle of pasture in Church End the land of Anthony Reynolds and Margaret his wife, with another the division fence formerly between them has some time since been taken up and they now form one Close known as Townsend close.16 Oct 1837 (ii)Absolute surrender Edward Bensley Gardner of Brighton, Esq, devisee under the will of his uncle William Wells Gardner, to Rev H Addington, clerk, vicar of Langford and Frederick Edwin Eyre of the cottage, Bishops Stortford, Esq, for £200. - 3r pightle now thrown together with and forms northern side of a close containing 3 ac 2 r 11 p at Church End; the pightle is now found to contain 3r 24 p the remainder of the close is freehold coloured red and green respectively on the plan in the margin. (a) - 1½ ac in Holme Field coloured yellow on the margin plan.(c) 27 Nov 1860 [i-ii formerly CD 1018] (iii)Absolute surrender Edward Bensley Gardner to Rev H Addington for £160 for the use of Rev Addington and his successors as vicars of Langford. - (d)27 Nov 1860 (iv)Admission of the Rev Chris Cooper Ewbank as Vicar of Langford on the death of the Rev Hen Addington, late Vicar of the parish, to - (d) situate on W side of road from Langford to B'wade, and nearly opposite the garden of the Vicarage) said Hen Addington was admitted tenant to the premises on 29 April 1861, and died on 17 Aug 1883,25 Sep 1884,[iii-iv Formerly CD 972].
