  • Title
    Cottage in Langford and land awarded in lieu of common rights. (i)Conditional surrender by Wm Bryant, Langford, victualler, and w Sar (one of the daus and a devisee in the will of Sam Cobb, late of Langford, lab), in consideration of £39 pd to them by Jn Foster of Biggleswade, Esq. of - cottage and garden adj in Langford, late in occ Thos Ventner and Moses Rae, and now of Jn Pryor and Jos Pateman - piece of land in Middle Field (1 ac) lately set out and awarded to sd Wm Bryant and w Sar by Inclosure Commissioners in lieu of common rights belonging to sd cottage to secure repayment of sd £39 and int at 5% p.a.(14 Mar 1828). (ii)Acknowledgement of satisfaction by Jn Foster regarding the sd sum of £39 as far as it relates to the sd piece of land, the sd Jn Foster being content that sd sum should be chargeable on the cottage and garden only (1 Oct 1828). (iii)Another copy of the acknowledgement of satisfaction, with receipt for £8 attached. (3 July & 1 Oct 1828) (iv)Warrant authorising steward to enter satisfaction on conditional surrender of sd £39 as it has been pd by Jermh Bryant, son of Sar Bryant, dec.(17 Feb 1847) (v)Absolute surrender by Jermh Bryant to Jas Smith, Langford, yeoman. in consideration of £109, of - cottage (as above)(17 Feb 1847) [all formerly CD 974].
