    Deposition:James Janes, Tilsworth, yeo. Found stolen goods on Grace Day. The Information of James Janes of Tilsworth in the County of Bedford yeoman taken upon oath before Sr Francis Wingate Knt and William Duncombe Esqr two of his Majesties of the peace for the said County of Bedford the 23th day of July 1678 This Infromant sayth that himselfe and all his family being from home about ten of the clocke in the forenoone of this present day, and retourning home found that he had lost out of his house a peece of Wollen Cloth containeing betwixt three and foure yards, and upon pursuit made, found the said peece of Cloth in the possession of one Grace Day who had hid herselfe in the feild amongst the Standing Beanes, and alsoe that the said Grace Day had in her costody halfe a duzzen Pewter Spoones and two Collour Bands, which were alsoe the goods of this Informant, and this Informant further saith that he left all the doores lockt and Bolted when he went from home, and further sayth not.
