Reciting: - Will of Edmond Williamson of Campton, Beds, clerk in holy orders dated the 21st Mar 1834 (See X916/5/1). - Edmond Williamson died on the 13th Jan 1839 and his will was proved at the Prerogative Court of Canterbury on the 5th Feb 1839. - Marriage settlement dated the 2nd Jun 1856 between (1) Edward Atkinson (2) Frances Hestor Smith (3) Henry Goodenough Smith, John Budd Phear and Richard Goodhall Smith whereby in consideration of the intended marriage between (1) & (2) certain property was assigned unto (3) upon trust to sell the property and pay profits to (1) for life; after to (2) for her life; after to any children of the said marriage; if no children (as was the case) (3) to stand possessed of the property in case (3) should die in the lifetime of (1) (which has occurred) then upon the trusts directed in the will of (2). - Will of Elizabeth Williamson dated the 31st Dec 1839 (See X916/5/2). - Elizabeth Williamson died on the 25th Apr 1857 and her will was proved at the Prerogative Court of Canterbury on the 25th Apr 1857. - Will of Frances Williamson dated the 24th Sep 1857 (See X916/5/3). - Frances Williamson died on the 14th May 1859 and her will was proved at the Principal Registry on the17th Jun 1859. - Mary Smith died on the 12th Jun 1875. - Conveyance dated 18th May 1865 between (1) Catherine & Ann Williamson (2) Richard Williamson (3) William Williamson whereby (1) conveyed one moiety in the estates at Shefford and Campton to (2) & (3). - Will of Richard Williamson dated the 5th Jun 1865 whereby he gave the residue of his real estate in Bedfordshire to his wife (Ann Williamson) for life and after to Ann, Catherine or William Williamson; said William & John Edward Gray appointed executors. - Richard Williamson died on the 11th Sep 1865 and his will was proved at the Principal Registry on the 2nd Nov 1865 & subsequently on the 2nd Jul 1885. - Ann Williamson (widow of Richard) died in Jan 1897. - Will of William Williamson dated 22 Aug 1875 whereby Edward Atkinson and his nieces Ann Jane Williamson & Ann Maria Smith were appointed executors and he gave his residuary real and personal estate equally between his nieces: said Anne & Ann, Frances Hestor Atkinson & Elizabeth Harriet Smith. - William Williamson died on the 17th Dec 1875 and his will was proved at the Principal Registry on the 12th Jan 1875. - Will of Catherine Williamson dated 12th Feb 1876 whereby Ann Jane Williamson and William George Carter Mitchell were appointed executors and she devised her property in Shefford and Campton unto the said Ann Jane Williamson, Elizabeth Harriet Smith and Ann Jane Williamson as tenants in common subject to the payment of an annuity of £5 to George Heathfield (who is long since deceased). - Catherine Williamson died on the 23rd Feb 1876 and her will was proved at the Principal Registry on the 13th May 1876. - Indenture dated the 3rd Feb 1877 between (1) Ann Jane Williamson (2) Edward Atkinson & Frances Hestor Atkinson (his wife) (3) Henry Goodenough Smith, John Budd Phear and Richard Goodhall Smith whereby (1) & (2) granted their shares in the Campton & Shefford estates which William Williamson was entitled to at the time of his death unto (3) subject to the trusts and life estate of Ann Williamson contained in the recited marriage settlement dated the 2nd Jun 1856. - Deed of appointment dated 6th Nov 1877 between (1) Edward Atkinson & Frances Hestor Atkinson (2) John Budd Phear (3) Edward Josselyn Beck (4) Henry Goodenough Smith, Richard Goodhall Smith & Edward Josselyn Beck whereby (1) appointed (3) in place of (2) as the new trustee of the recited marriage settlement. - Indenture dated the 21st May 1878 between (1) Ann Jane Williamson (2) Edward Atkinson & Frances Hestor Atkinson (his wife) (3) Henry Goodenough Smith, Richard Goodhall Smith & Edward Josselyn Beck whereby (1) granted her shares in the Campton & Shefford estates which Catherine Williamson was entitled to at the time of her death unto (3) subject to the trusts and life estate of Ann Williamson contained in the recited marriage settlement. - Deed of appointment dated the 14th Jul 1880 between (1) Edward Atkinson & Frances Hestor Atkinson (2) Edward Josselyn Beck (3) Henry Richard Cooper Smith & Robert Gray Mowbray (4) Edward Josselyn Beck, Henry Richard Cooper Smith & Robert Gray Cornish Mowbray whereby (1) appointed (3) in place of Henry Goodenough Smith & Richard Goodhall Smith, since deceased as the new trustee of the recited marriage settlement. - Will of Ann Williamson dated the 24th Oct 1857 (See X916/5/4). - Mary Carter Smith died on the 16th Feb 1865. - Ann Williamson died on the 3rd Jul 1888 and her will was proved at the Principal Registry on the 15th Sep 1888. - Will of Elizabeth Harriet Smith dated the 5th May 1884 whereby she gave her share and interest in the Campton & Shefford properties to her sister Frances Hestor Atkinson. - Codicil to said will whereby an annuity of £20 was granted to Annie Baker. - Elizabeth Harriet Smith died on the 19th May 1902 and her will was proved in the Northampton Principal Registry on the 19th Jul 1902. - Conveyance dated 26th Jan 1903 between (1) Ann Maria Smith (2) Frances Hester Atkinson (3) Walter Hamond Francis (4) Ann Maria Smith (as personal representative of Elizabeth Harriet Smith) whereby (1) conveyed Elizabeth Harriet Smith's share in the properties at Campton & Shefford unto (3) to the use of (2) subject to the said annuity to Annie Baker. - Will of Frances Hester Atkinson dated the 13th Sep 1902 whereby she gave the Campton & Shefford property to Ann Maria Smith, subject however, to the trusts still contained in the recited marriage settlement of 2nd Jun 1856. - Conveyance dated 26th Jan 1903 was never carried out. - Frances Hester Atkinson died on the 11th Apr 1908 and her will was proved at the Peterborough Principal Registry on the 5th May 1908. - Will of Ann Maria Smith dated the 26th Sep 1908 whereby after appointing Cecil Newton Goodhall and Blair Hamilton Lee Williams executors she devised, after the death of Edward Atkinson the house & garden in Shefford with 2a of land (then in the occupation of Charles Edward Winckworth) and the cottage and garden in the same occupation unto and to the use of Charlotte Henrica Katherine Hilda Goodhall and Mary Constance Goodhall in equal shares and in fee simple. - Ann Maria Smith died on the 15th Oct 1909 and her will was proved on the 22nd Feb 1910. - Deed poll dated 25th Oct 1911 whereby Blair Hamilton Lee Williams withdrew from being a trustee of the will of Ann Maria Smith. - Edward Atkinson died on the 1st Mar 1915 leaving a will dated 2nd Dec 1910 which was proved at the Peterborough Principal Registry on the 28th May 1915. - Robert Gray Cornish Mowbray died on the 23rd Jul 1916. - Annie Baker died on the 23rd Apr 1917. - Catherine Henrica Katerine Hilda Goodhall & Mary Constance Goodhall have recently sold the house & garden which was in the occupation of Edward Winckworth. Operative: - (i) conveys (a) to (iv) - (i), (ii) & (iii) convey any right they hold in (a) to (iv) Property: (a) Piece or parcel of land situate and abutting on the S side of Ampthill Street, Shefford; bounded on N by Ampthill Street & W by a cottage and premises belonging to George Hardy Napp. Together with the cottage and outbuildings of 23p now in the occupation of Revell. Habendum: - Unto (iv) as tenants in common discharged from the debts of the said Ann Maria Smith and the legacies bequeathed by her will. - Signed by (i), (ii) & (iii). - Witnessed by George Baxter of Kings Court, Broadway, Westminster, SW1, clerk to (i); Maria Louisa Richard of 25 Graham Road, Ipswich, spinster & Mauris Henry Stokes of Berkshire Club, Reading, clerk in holy orders; Walter H.
