    Deposition: William Dearmor, Harding (Herts.), yeo. 22 May 1678. Was riding from Luton with Jn. Wethered, when they overtook Chas. Taylor and Robt. White, who refused to move out of the way. J.W. struck C.T. with his whip, whereupon C.T. and R.W. pulled J.W. and W.D. from the horse, fell upon them, and did not leave them until they were speechless and almost dead. J.W. died within ½ hr. The Information of William Dearmor of Harding in the Countie of Hartford yeoman taken uppon oath the 22th day of May Ao RR Caroli Scdi nunc Angl & c xxxmo [1678] before Charles Dymok gentl one of the coroners for the said Countie of Bedford viz This Informant sayth that on Munday last being the 20th day of May Instant hee this Informant was Riding uppon a horse behind the decd John Wethered in the Way from Luton towards Harding aforesaid and in the Highway neer Rinnsford in the parish of Luton aforesaid they overtook Charles Taylor late of Luton aforesd and Robert White late of Harding in the Countie of Hartford and the said John Wetherhead bid them goe out of the Way which they refusing hee the said Wethered strook the said Taylor over the shoulder with his Whipp whereuppon hee the said Taylor tooke hold of the said Wetherhed and pulled him and also this Informant from of the horse and when hee was downe they the said Taylor & White fell both uppon him the said Wetherhed & tooke his Whipp from him & strok him with itt uppon the head and lay uppon him and stroke him with their fists and threatned to knock down this Informant and did not leave him untill hee was speechlesse & almost dead & then they went away whilest hee this Informant was endeavoring to help upp the said John Wetherhed who was speechlesse and within half an houre or thereabouts dyed and further hee sayth nott William Dearmar Capt die et Ao supradict: Per me Charles Dymok
