    Deposition:Robert Crane, Ashley (Northants), drover. Heard that a sheep lost by him was in Rog. Jenkin's orchard; R.J.'s wife said it had been there. The information of Robert Crane of Ashley in the County of Northampton drover taken before me Wm Duncombe one of his Maies Justices of the peace for the County of Bedd aforesd this 25 of December 1677 This informant saith that about 6 weekes since he lost a sheep passing through Hockliff a long white sheep as he thinks riddled on the back & markd on the Buttock with a flower de Lys or N. That about a fortnight after hearing is sheep to have been in the grounds of Roger Jenkins he demanded it of his wife he not being att home she said the sheep had indeed been there, but that it was gone into Teboth feilds about a weeke before & farther saith not.
