    Deposition:Thomas Eastwell, Tempsford, labourer. --- Took the key of Richard Harris' shop from Th. Studds' house and went to fetch weights and scales to weigh cheeses, but did not find any. The window was not then broken open. The examination of Thomas Eastwell of Temsford labourer taken before Gaius Squier one of his Maiesties Justices of peace in the said county the 26th day of July 1673 This examinant saith that he knows very well where the key of Richard Harris shop usually hangs in Thomas Studds his house and hath been often imployed by Harris himself to fetch it, And he saith on Wednesday last in the absence of the said Richard Harris he tooke the key at Studds his house and went alone to the said shop to fetch weights and scales to weigh some cheeses, and finding them not there he went to Parkin the smith for them, And he saith he was not in Harris his shop on Tuesday last, neither did he see the chamber window broken on Wednesday when he went for the weights, but on the same day when Thomas Studds called him to goe along with him to goe to the shop they saw the window broken open, And this examinant then opening the shop took up an empty purse there, the said Studds being present at the same time, and further saith not.
