Deposition: Samuell Keene. Marston Moretaine. 18 January 1671 With WilliamHecckett, JohnHecckett, JohnBeaumont and JohnWatte, he brought a sheep to Th.Basterfeild's alehouse, and killed and ate it there. It was his own sheep. The examination of Sam Keenes of Marston Moretaine in the County aforesd, labourer, taken Jan. 18th, 1670 before Thos Snagg and Robt. Crompton JPs This ex. saith that about All Saints Daye last past hee the sd. Sam. Keenes togeither with Wm Hocckett, John Hocckett, John Beamont and Jn Watts brought A sheep unto the howse of one Thos Basterfeild an alehousekeeper in Marston aforesd. about six of the clocke in the eveninge and there killed it and eate it, and that the sd. sheep was his owne And that about tenn or eleaven of the clocke in the sd. night they went awaie from the sd. alehouse and further sayeth not. The Examination of Wm and Jn Hocckett and Jn Baemont taken as above whoe sayeth as aforesd. concerninge the premises.
