    Deposition: Fra. Seayre, Woburn, Constable 4 July 1670 Arrested and put J.D. in the cage. Objects found on him suspected of coming from R.N. The Deposition of Fra. Seayre constable of Wooburn in the County of Bedford taken upon his oath before St. John Chernocke Bart one of his majesties J.P.s the 4th day of July 1670. This deponent saith that when he was first desired to apprehend John Dier for the felloniex and mischeife the sd. John Dier committed on the bodie of Roger Norris of Wavendon in the County of Bucks the sd. Fra. Seayre searched the pocketts of the sd. John Dier and there found a knife with a black carved haft and a sheath and a paire of sissers and searching further about him he found a rasor that he had put into the lineing of his breeches with an intention to conceale it, the sd. John Dier denying to the sd. Fra. Seayre that he had anything more about him that was dangerous and after the sd. Fra. Seayre had secured the sd. John Dier in the cage he asked the sd. John Dier what money he had about him, and he denyed that he had any more than houre halfe pence about him and the sd. Fra. Seayre not beleiveing the sd. John Dier made further search and found in his littel pockett twelve shillings and six pence and after he found the sd. money in his pockett he asked the sd. John Dier why he did deny that he had any more money and he would him no account and further this dep. sayth not.
