    Edwife Hill, Barton, shoemaker 18 Feb. 1670 The informattion of Edwife Hill of Barton shoomaker taken the same day. This inf. says that on Munday the 14th day of this inst. Feb. hee this inf. came to the house of Edwife Pearles in Barton to see Wm Pearles whom hee heard had received some hurt att Shitlington And this inf. asked the sd. William Pearles if hee had not been fighting and who itt was that hurt him And hee the sd. William told this inf. That one John Keyes and hee quarrelled about a stick which the sd. Keys had taken away and would not give him againe, whereuppon hee the sd. William Pearles stroke the sd. Keyes and gott him downe and then came Thomas Flint and layd hold of the sd. William Pearles and held him whilese the sd. Keyes gott upp and kicked him on the side and that afterwards hee the sd. William Pearles would have taken another stick that stood in the house and the sd. Thomas Flint tooke hold of the sd. stick and when they were striveing togeather for itt his wife came and took and pulde him by the hayre of the head and further hee cannot depose.
