Deposition: Richard Flint, Hitchin, husbandman 18 Feb. 1670
The information of Richard Flint of Hitchin in the county of Hartford husbandman taken upon oath the 18th Feb. before Charles Dymoke gentleman This inf. sayth that on Wednesday the ninth day of this inst. February hee this informant was present att the house of Thomas Flint att Shitlington Beds. when William Pearles dec. and John Keys did quarrell about a stick which the sd. William Pearles had lost and the sd. Keys confessed hee had the stick and said if the sd. William Pearles would goe forth hee would shew itt him whereuppon they both went forth into a close neere by - and not long after hee this inf. went out also and found them the sd. Keys and the sd. Pearles fighting togeather and were down uppon the ground and the sd. Pearles was uppon the sd. John Keys and hee this ex. further sayth that hee did see Mary the wife of Thos Flint aforesd. take hold of the sd. Wm Pearles to gett him of from the sd. Keys as hee conceiveth and presently thereuppon came the sd. Thomas Flint and pulled the Wm Pearles from of the sd. Keys and further hee cannott depose. The mark of Richard Flint.
