    Deposition.Eliz. Crouch, Barton, widow 18 Feb 1670 Attended Edwife Pearles after assault The information of Eliz. Crouch of Barton Beds. widdowe taken the 18th Feb, 1669. This informant says That on Wednesday the sixteenth day of this instant Feb. shee this inf. came to the house of Edwife Pearles to visitt William Pearles whome shee heard was very ill of some hurts hee had received att Shitlington and shee this informant stayed there till the sd. William dyed which was the next night And she this inf. heard the sd. William say divers times that hee recd. his deathes wound att Shitlington and complayned of his back and sides and said hee could have dealt with one well enough butt there was three uppon him and further shee this inf. says that shee did see the sd. Wm Pearles spitt upp blood divers times which she thinks stopped his wind and was the cause of his death and further shee cannott depose. The mark of Eliz. Crouch.
