    Deposition: John Keyes, Shillington, labourer 18 Feb. 1670 When E.P came to house of Thomas Flint, J.K. threw E.P.'s stick out of doors. On recovering it E.P. struck J.K. & fight began. The examination of John Keys of Shitlington Beds. laborer taken the same day. This ex. says That on Wednesday the ninth day of this instant February hee this ex. being att the house of one Thomas Flint of Shitlington, the deceased William Pearles came into the same house and having sett down his stick hee this ex. tooks the same away and carryed itt out of dores and putt itt into the hedge and coming againe into the house hee the sd. William Pearles challenged him for the sd. stick and hee this ex. then told him that if he would goe forth hee would show him where his stick was and then they two went out immediately into the close and this ex. shewed him the stick and then the sd. William Pearles stroke this ex. upon the face and stroke upp his his heeles and heat him when hee was down butt whether any other person came to them to part them or otherwise this ex. being all bloody knowes nott and further hee sayth nott.
