    Deposition: Ann wife of Edwife Pearles, Barton, butcher 18 Feb. 1670 Husband told her that 3 persons assaulted him The information of Anne the wife of Edwife Pearles of Barton in the County of Beds. butcher taken 18th Feb. 1669 before Charles Dymoke gentleman coroner to the Liberty of Ampthill. This informant sayth That on Wednesday the ninth day of this inst. February William Pearles her this ex's sonne went to Shitlington and when he came whome againe shee this informant perceived hee was nott well and asked him divers times what hee ayled, and if anybody had hurt him butt hee would not then confesse that hee had received any hurt, yett complayned very much of his back. Butt on Monday morning last hee the sd. William Pearles told her this inf. That hee had received his Mortall Wound at Shitlington, and that there was three uppon him togeather and That Thomas Flint held him by the neck and his the sd. Flints wife held him by the hayre of the head whilst John Keyes kicked him and further shee cannott depose. mark of Anne Pearles
