    William Goodman, Hungerton, husbandman 7 Aug. 1669 Took Joan wife of John Williamson of Tannarth (Warks) for picking pocket of wife Goodman at Saturday market in Bedford Joan Williamson Husband deals in selling lace and stockings; came to Bedford from Newport; denies picking pocket. The information of William Goodman of Hungerton in the County of Leicester, husbandman, taken the 7th August 1669 before John Gardiner J.P. for Beds: This informant upon his oath saith that being in the Saturday market in Bedford the day abovesd He did take the hand of Joane Williamson the wife of John Williamson of Tannath in Warwickshire, in his pockett, and that he then had five shillings and nine pence (being in a purse) taken out of his pockett and that he beleeveth the sd. Joane tooke itt, and that he immediately goeing after her to take her she did fly for itt. And further saieth not. The examination of Joane Williamson aforesd. taken the same day: This examinant saith that she liveth att Tannath in Warcs, and that her husband dealeth in buying and selling of lace & stocking and that she came yesterday (being the 6th inst.) from Newport and that her husband and she lodged att a house witha signe some three or foure miles from Bedford, But she denieth that she ever medled with the pockett or mony of William Goodman and further saith not.
