    Edmund Osmond 2 Jan 1669 As HSA/1669 W/33 The Information of Edmund Osmond of Laighton, Beds, victualler taken the second day of January, 1668. This informant saith that on Thursday last being the one and Thirtieth day of December in the yeare of our lord one thousand six hundred and sixty eight hee this informant lost one sheepe out of the threescore sheepe lodged in his close lying on the East side of his dwelling house as they were driving towardes London by two of Sir Richard Napier's servants whose names hee doth not remember being the goods of the said Sir Richard Napier of Edsworth in the County of Middlesex which hee this informant made search for at the request of the said servants uppon theire going away the next morning missing the said sheepe who did tell him this informant that some of theire said sheepe were markt with the letters R and N, and the rest with a round pitch brand like an O and the day following this informant searching the house of Andrew Impey of Laighton in the County of Bedford labourer for the said sheepe found there one whole sheepe newly killed witha skin thrown into the selling of his house with a sheepe brand upon it very like the letters R and N and thereupon hee this informant did charge the said Andrew Impey to have stolne the said sheepe out of his this informants close the night before which hee the said Andrew Impey did confesse, and said that hee the said Andrew being somwhat in drink betwixt twelve and one of the clocke that night did steale the said sheepe out of his this informants said close and further saith not.
