    Deposition: ... ... tailor -- Heard Thomas Purrat say that Jn Halford was the cause of his death. Thomas Rawlins -- Halford and Purratt were wrestling together; Halford hurt eye of Purratt. John Halford -- As to drinking and wrestling at Wilden The Deposition of ......... [presumably Peter Linford of Colmworth] taylor ....... before the justices then sitting. Whoe deposeth and saith that on Midsummer day last Mr. Halford was with Thomas Purratt, and this deponent being by, this deponent heard the said Purratt say that the sd. Halford was the cause of his death. The information of Thomas Rawlins of Wilden, butcher, taken upon oath at same sessions in open sessions. Deposeth and saith that Mr. Halford and Thomas Purratt beinge Wrestlinge togeather about six weekes since the sd. Halford in wrestlinge hurt the said Purratt's eye, and that the sd. Purratt about three weekes after fell sick and about a weeke after that dyed. The examination of John Halford of Colmeworth in the said county, tanner, taken at the same sessions in open sessions. This examinant saith that about six weekes since this examinant and one Thomas Purratt was drinkinge togeather at Wilden, and there went to wrestlinge and in wrestlinge the eye of the sd. Purratt was hurt but which way it came this examinant cannot tell. And this examinant saith that there was noe anger betwixt them at that tyme nor at any tyme before Before Paul Dobb Esq.
