Certificate of death of Robt. Bishopp in Newgate, imprisoned for murder. Certificate of death: These are to Certefy That Robert Bishopp was Committed to the Prison of Newgate London the first day of November 1666 by George Walsh Esqr one his Majesties Justices of the peace for the county of Middlesex he having bin formerly committed for suspicon of murder & other felonies by Sr Harry Chester of Bedfordshire & made his escape as he was goeinge to Bedford Goale, he confesinge the same before the sd Mr Walsh As by his mittimus uppon the file att Newgate it is certifyed Uppon which att the Sessions followinge held att the Old Bayly the 12th of December 1666, the foresd Robt Bishopp was ordered to be removed into Bedfordshire against the next Assizes, but the sd Robert Bishopp is since dead in the sayd Goale of Newgate & an inquisition returned thereupon by the Coroner to the Court. All which is Certifyed & attesed by us whose Names are subscribed. Witnes our hands this 22th day of February Anno dni 1666. Walter Coudrey Keeper John Shadwell of Newgate.
