    Deposition Alice Stover, Goldington, spinster 12 Feb. 1667 Bastard female child delivered stillborn in house of father Walter Stover. ; she then threw it into a pond in father's yard. Father of the child: Thomas Darling. The examination of Alice Stoner of Goldington in the County of Bedford singlewoman taken the twelfth day of February in the year of our lord God 1666. This examinant saith that uppon Friday the fowerth day of January last past this examinant was delivered of [a] bastard female child bore deed in an upper room of the howse of Walter Stoner her father at Goldington in the County of Bedford and that there was not any person present at the time of her said deliverye which was about two of the clocke in the afternoons of the aforesaid day and that the same right shes was delivered of the said child she threw her said child into a pond in her said fathers Yard in Goldington aforesaid, and that noe person was privye or knowing either to her said delivery or to her throwing her said child into the said Pond.And she further sayth tha the said child was begotten of her body by Thomas Darling a batchelor dwelling at Goldington, aforesaid and that she did not at any time acquaint him of her being with child.
