Journal of Mrs Elizabeth Palfreman, wife of John Palfreman. Mostly written at Oakley and Woburn Abbey. With copies of letters and notes of deaths of family and friends including: - loose copy of letter from Mr N Kimble to Lord Dillon regarding the character of John Palfreeman, stating that he had been Mr Kimbles Valet for 5 years and recommending him as a respectable and trustworthy servant. 12 Apr 1833. - Agreement with husband that she would make an allowance of 30 per annum to his brother Richard Palrfeman. 1836. - Richard Palfreman died 22 Feb 1846. - Mentions money to be left to her cousins Elizabeth Grieg Miller and Isabella 1842 - Bequests of jewellery, some illegible due to cross writing:Mentions God-daughter Eliza Clarke, bequeaths her jewellery given to Mrs Palfreeman by the Duke and Duchess of Bedford 1842. Friend Mary Jane Garner - jewellery from Lady Stanhope 1854. Miss Ann Eddup - jewellery 1837. Miss Eliza Eddup 1854.to son of Mr William Foulkes a ring 1856.
