The chapel of Over Gravenhurst: the order of Mr. Smith's resignation:- Edw. Smith, curate, resigned, & asked the Bishop to appoint the bearer his successor; 29 Oct. 1609 St. Andrew's day the parish wrote that they had chosen the bearer; Edw. Colbye, clerk, was licensed to perform the office of deacon until he had taken orders, & to exercise the office of curate at Or. Gravenhurst; 24 Dec. 1609 Edw. Colbye informed 'my lord' in a document signed by W. & H. Whitbred, W. Mathew, Jo. & P. Lucas, W. Hale, Jo. Sheperd, W. & Jo. Mylward, W. Field; 31 March 1610 Wm. Whitebread told 'my lord' he had not known what had happened before March. 9 Ap. 1610
