    Over Gravenhurst: 'an abstract of divers things concerning the chapel there'. In 1538 the Abp. of Canterbury confirmed the foundation of the the chapel of St. Giles in Over Gravenhurst, made by Ric., Bichop of Lincoln; and so also did Hen.VIII. In 1550 a decree in the Ct. of Augmentations laid down that the chapel was a chapel of ease and that the minister should take the 'whyte tithes' of the hamlet. Paper torn across, and bears a note that the tearing is comtemporary).
