    Writ of execution of Chancery decree: recites judgement in suit:- Earl of Kent, by his mother & guardian,v. Marquess of Hertford, Earls of Rutland and Devon, Wm. Pierpoint, Jn. Selden, Matt.Hale: the late Eliz., Countess Dowager of Kent, was seised of Goodrich castle, Goodrich, Irchenfield, Flansford, Eccleswa, manors in Hereford; and Langhope, Huntiley Leigh and Westbury manor in Glos.; the Hundred of Warmelow, Hereford; leased on 12 July 1647 for 21 yrs. to Marquess of Hertford and Jn. Selden in trust for self and heirs, with remainder in default of heirs of her own to Earls of Rutland, Devonshire, Lord Beauchamp, Wm. Pierpoint, Edw. Kirton; on 10 Dec. 1648 Eliz. made settlement on her death from above on Jn. Dorming, her household servt., and to procure letters of denization; by will 20 June 1649 Eliz. appointed all mentioned in deed recited above her exors.; she died Dec.1651 and will proved, but rents insufficient to meet various charges laid upon them except over a period of many years; trustees finding it inconvenient to meet, and entry of Earl of Kent to land much delayed, Earl of Kent willing to pay remainder of charges due from lands in return for voiding of 21 yr. term; but as Earl of Kent a minor, surviving trustees, to ensure that no refusal to accept settlement could be made when Earl of Kent came of age, took case to court; Jn. Selden and Phil. Powell, who have made payments out of own store, in expectation of reimbursement from rents of above, to be repaid by plt.; term of 21 yrs. above set over to guardian of Earl of Kent. seal missing from tag. exempl.13 November 1654
