7 demesne closes in Cundall and houses there (Bush Close, the
Leaze, Little South Ing, Middle Ings, South Ing, the Lees (2),
109 a. in all.); -- manor of Norton nr. Lewton (Norton-in-Luto);
-- manor of Rainton, with great tithes of township of Baldersby;
3a. in Aisenby; mess. houses and lands in York.
Moiety of manor of Clifton, mess., houses and lands in York and
in Newbiggin to Sir. W. Robinson till Metcalfe Robinson marries
a wife with a portion of 6000 and pays same to Sir W. Robinson.
Then to use of M. Robinson forever. Other moiety of manor of Cli-
fton to use of M. Robinson forever. Manors of Rainton & Norton
and land at Cundall, tithes of Baldersby, and land at Aisenby
to use of (c) for 500 yrs. on trusts and then to use of Sir W.
Robinson for life, then M. Robinson & hrs. forever. Trusts for
500 yrs. term to (c): to sell for 6000 for maintenance of
children of Sir. W. Robinson & w. Dame Mary acc. to apptmt. in
Sir W. Robinson's will. If no will money to equally divided
between children. Rec. of death of Sir W. Robinson then will of
Metcalfe Robinson of 11 April 1734. Legacy of 100 to bro. Sir
Tancred Robinson (excr.), residue of estate to bro. Thos.
Robinson. Metcalfe Robinson. d. 25 Dec. 1736. Rec. of disputes
since then between Sir Tancred Robinson & Thos. Robinson about
terms of Metcalf Robinson's will. To end this Tancred & Thos.
agreed that manor of Clifton (worth 800 p.a.) should be charged
with annuity of 500 to Thos. Robinson.)
(i) & (ii) - (v) -- manor of Clifton with great tithes and 5 rent from Rectory
of Alm; closes in Newbiggin, York; 7 closes in Cundall; manor
of Norton nr. Lynton als. Lewton; manor of Rainton; tithes of
Baldersby; 3a. in Aisenby (subject to 500 yrs. term); mansion
house of Newby on Swale nr. Topcliffe.
So that annuity of 500 can be pd. to Thos. Robinson from manor of
Clifton. Rest of above lands to use of (iii) for life to preserve
contingent redrs., (i) to receive rents, then after his dec. to use
of Wm. Robinson, eldest s. of (i) (iii to preserve uses), then to
Wm. Robinson's (Jun.) sons, in default to 2nd. s. of Sir Tancred
Robinson, Norton and son(s), in default to use of Thos. Robinson,
3rd. s. of Sir Tancred Robinson and son(s) (Other provisions in
default of issue - to (ii) & Jn. Robinson.) Leases can be made for
not more than 21 yrs. Provisions can be made for jointure from above
lands.
(Rec. Sir Wm. Robinson or Sir Metcalf Robinson died seized
during lives of Tancred Robinson (bro. of Sir Wm. Robinson
and uncle of Sir Metcalfe Robinson and Sir Tancred Robinson - i)
of prebend of Strensall by Lease of 5 March 1695 between
Sir William Robinson and Rev. Geo. Tullie.)
