Conveyance (by lease and release) i) Ann Adams, late of Gosmore, Ippollitts, Herts, but now of Caddington, Herts, widow ii)Joseph Margetts Pierson, Hitchin, Herts, gentleman iii) John Powers, Girtford, Sandy, baker iv) William Dobson, Girtford, gentleman v) James Sutton, Sandy, victualler In Trinity term, 54 George III, i) levied a fine to Samuel Smith, Hitchin, Herts, ironmonger, of below mentioned land Also by deed of 9 August 1814 between i) and Samuel Smith (being a deed to declare the uses of a fine), i) is now seised of said piece of land in fee simple in possession By mortgage of 11 June 1817 between i) and ii), i) demised to ii) various pieces of land at Girtford, including below mentioned, for 1000 years to secure 1000 and interest By an auction held at the Kings Arm, Girtford, on 4 November 1822, iii) was highest bidder for Lot 4 at 165 Now in consideration of 165 paid to ii) by iii), by direction of i),in part payment of 1083 now owing to ii) i) releases to iii) in his actual possession by virtue of a lease for a year dated the previous day - 1a 20p land, once in occupation of Edward and Samuel Ball - timber built barns thereon ormerly part of piece of land awarded to i) or to Walter Adams, her late husband, deceased, in her right, by the inclosure commissioners for Potton to be held to use of iii) discharged from said sum of 1083 and interest and from the land tax and tithes, or to iv) in trust for iii) Also in consideration of 165 paid to ii) by v) ii) at request of i) and nomination of ii), assigns to v) - all such parts of said lands as have been sold by i) to iii) to be held for residue of said term of 1000 years in trust for iii) i) covenants to produce deeds as in schedule Schedule Lease and release of 5 and 6 February 1754 Fine of Hilary term 27 George II Will of John Gray 3 September 1774 Fine of Trinity term 54 George III Deed of 9 August 1814 Mortgage of 11 January 1817 Land tax redemption certificate of 19 December 1799 Signatures of i), ii) and iii) endorsed receipt witnesses William Adams Geo King, solr, Potton
