Security deed no 1 i) Joseph Powers, Girtford, yeoman ii) The Rev Joseph Douton, Biggleswade, clerk William Hogg Robert Lindsell John Nathaniel Foster (present trustees of 'the Biggleswade Provident Land and Building Society') i) became a subscriber for 2 shares of 120 in said Society numbered 78 and 79 On 4 February last the Directors of the Society offered a share for sale and i) was highest bidder for 64 10s and gave notice that he would take one share more Directors have agreed to make an advance to i) from funds of said Society of 129 on security of said 2 shares Now in consideration of 129, full amount of 64 10s per share sterling (being the amount which i) is entitled to receive for his 2 shares) paid to i) by ii) i) appoints - messuage (lately converted,into 2) etc in Girtford, late in occupation of Jane Blane and now of Thomas Smith and Agnes King, widow, as shown on ground plan in margin to use of ii) subject to redemption as soon as all payments in respect of said 2 shares have been made ii) to hold said premises in trust to permit i) to retain possession of said premises, so long as rules of the Society be observed. Power of sale in case of default.
